Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Today’s inspiration photo for Teddy and Angel Sammy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge is super cute. I only wish the poem I had Kitties Blue write lived up to it. I think they may have been a little jealous of these cutie pies.
Not Real Cats!
These creatures are meerkats.
They don’t really look like cats.
You’ll never catch us snuggling like that.
We don’t believe these are cats of any sort.
And guess what…they aren’t!
They are related to the mongoose,
Which looks nothing like a goose.
Now we are totally confused…how about you?
Humans like meerkats ‘cause they look cute
When they stand up on their back legs.
Give us a treat just out of reach,
and we’ll do the same. Well maybe!

If you’d like to write a poem for next week, pop on over to Two Spoiled Cats by clicking on the poetry badge. You’ll find next week’s inspiration photo. While there, make certain to read Angel Sammy’s poem. He transmits it to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge, and it’s always a winner. Also check out the Comments section for links to other poems.
Thankful Thursday
Not only do we write a poem each Thursday, but Kitties Blue and I also join the blog hop hosted by Brian and let you know for what we are thankful.
We all are thankful for a quiet week, especially Sawyer, as he’s had no seizures for nine days.
And we are always thankful for our friends, followers and supporters, especially those who visit our Sunday Selfies blog hop and read The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky.
If you’d like to join the hop, post for what you are thankful on your blog, then click on Brian’s badge.
Calling All Tabby Cats
Sawyer and Cooper Murphy would like to invite all tabby cats who are not members to join the Tabby Cat Club.
That was a good and funny poem!
One of our angel cats would do things like sit up and beg for treats…kind of like a dog!
I wonder why those Meerkats are huddled up like that! I know they are not getting ready for a football play, MOL!
That photo is priceless and the perfect poem to go with it!
Great poem. I wish my real cats were so close to each other 🙂 XO
There ARE NO “mere” cats !
Cute poem! We’re confused about those merkats too. What are they really? Good going, Sawyer! Keep it up!
I love that poem. So cute.
I’m thankful that Sawyer hasn’t had a seizure in nine days. Great news.
We are thankful for all you kitties and your mom and dad.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Big hug to you wonderful mom. ♥
Saw live meerkats (not on TV) at the Toledo Zoo last fall…they are so adorable! Love that they climb to the highest place to survey their territory.
That was such a cute poem and having a quiet week is such a blessing. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We think the Kitties Blue did a great job with their poem. We don’t think they look like any cats we know.
The Florida Furkids
Oh yes – we love your poem for the meerkat photo this week…..they are so cute and we love that they enjoy “clumping” and being close to each other. They also look out for their group and protect each other which we find very endearing. Thanks for playing poetry with us every week – isn’t it FUN???!!!
Hugs, Teddy
