Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
This is a fun challenge hosted each week by the boys from Two Spoiled Cats, Teddy and Angel Sammy. They present us with an inspiration photo each Thursday, we write a poem based on the photo and post it the following Thursday. Angel Sammy also writes a poem, which he transmits to Teddy from the Rainbow Bridge.
It is always fun to see how the poets participating interpret the photo. Sometimes all our poems are very similar and other times nothing alike; even though, we are all operating off the same photo. Anyhoo, here is today’s inspiration photo. It’s a fun one!
And here is my poem. I got a little carried away this week and didn’t know when to stop.
Beware of Kids in High Chairs
How do you like my new hat?
It’s a little slippery and oozy,
But I don’t mind…that’s a fact.
I’ll get to go for a swim in the tub,
While Mom washes me all over,
With a rub-a-dub dub!
If Mom is too busy to clean up the mess,
I bet some feline will help with the washing…
Maybe Mau, Cooper Murphy or Lisbeth.
Mommy as a kid performed similar stunts
With all manner of messy foods,
Requiring lots of assisted clean-ups.
Covering Easter dress with juice of cherries.
Spraying beets on white curtains,
Grandma Mary taught her razzberries!
Her mom poured milk undrunk over her head
And after getting a bath and hair wash,
She missed dessert and was sent off to bed.
Little kids can make great big messes.
When eating with one’s hands it’s expected.
It’s just too bad some parents it stresses.
Rubbing mashed potatoes in our hair
Or putting noodles up our noses,
No matter how disgusting, we don’t care.
If you don’t want to get hit by a wiener and bun,
You better stay clear of kids in high chairs,
Flinging and wearing food is just plain fun.

Thankful Thursday
Each Thursday Kitties Blue and I have made it a habit to join this blog hop hosted by Brian. After all, we do have much for which to be thankful.
The number one thankful on our list is for the overwhelming support, prayers, purrs, POTP and love sent to Sawyer. I said it before, but it definitely deserves being said again, “Pet/Animal bloggers are the most compassionate, caring and empathetic people I have ever encountered.” I truly feel blessed to be part of this community! Thank you.
Our number two thankful this week is a big one: Construction is almost at an end with only a few small jobs remaining. Our new bedroom furniture was delivered yesterday. With any luck, next Thursday I will be able to report that we are sleeping in our new first-floor addition. Fingers and paws crossed!
Finally, the kitties and I are thankful that we had some pretty good luck on the Tuesday Teaser this week. If you don’t know, it is also hosted by Two Spoiled Cats. We garnered two badges. The first was for being one of two “First Commenters.” We were delighted to share that honor with Friends Furever, the blog of Mau’s wife Allie as well as Raz and Noelle.
We also received a “Right Guesser” badge for knowing the locale of the photo. We weren’t first with the correct answer but not too far behind. Our badges are below.
If you would like to join Brian’s blog hop, post for what you are thankful on your blog then click on the badge above to go to his post and enter your link.
Thanks for stopping in to see us. We’ll be back tomorrow for Feline Friday and Friendly Fill-Ins.

Very funneee! Thanks for the chuckle.
That was a cute poem. My niece’s dog does a lot of clean up for her 2 little girls 🙂
Congrats on those badges and on the end of construction. XO
That kid is a mess! We love your poem. And good news about your new addition!
Thanks for sharing your poem. It was wonderful. Glad that the construction is almost over with and can get things back to normal. Congratulations on getting the two badges. Have a wonderful Thankful Thursday.
Love the poem. They are most fun to watch when they smear food all over themselves and everything around them. As long as i don’t have to do the clean up I’m good.
I hope your thankful becomes a reality. It’s been a very long time.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Janet. Big hug to you and lots of lovies and scritches to all the kitties, especially Sawyer and Cooper Murphy. ♥
Concatulations on your badges ! We’re glad that the construction stuff is coming to the end. Purrs
A wonderful poem today! Good to hear that construction is nearly done, what a relief for you all. Have a great week. Still sending up purrs and prayers for Sawyer. POTP
That was such a fun poem and a nice bunch of thankfuls too. We sure send purrs to dear Sawyer and we’re glad your construction project is oh so close. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Are they down to the punch-list now? That’s so exciting! Not having kids, we haven’t experienced a high-chair baby food free-for-all, but we can image!
We love your poem!! Such fun!!!!
We’re were thrilled to share the first commenter badge with you this week!!!
It’s going to be great to sleep in your new bedroom!
The Florida Furkids with smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats and headbonks to Sawyer from Noelle
That is a very well though out poem. How fun it was to be a child when you could just dump a bowl on your head and not worry about the consequences. 🙂
Oh my – what a FUN poem! Exactly what we saw and thought when we saw Angel Sammy’s photo inspiration…..the joy of eating from a high chair. HAHA I think there will be a lot of FUN TO READ poetry today don’t you? Yours will definitely be a highlight though. Concats on TWO badges from Teaser this week as well. Woot! We are also super duper happy that the construction project is grinding down to a halt and you can get back to PEACE AND QUIET. As always we send all of you hugs with a special one for Sawyer.
Love, Teddy
Your poem brought back lots of memories…MOL!
So happy for you that soon all that construction stress will be done. More rooms for your kitties to explore, too:)
