Thankful Thursday
We are starting today with our thankfuls. Our dad asked us to let everyone know how much he appreciated your birthday wishes yesterday. He truly is a great dad, and we are blessed to have him in our lives.
Our second thankful is what our mom calls a silver lining thankful. Sawyer had a grand mal seizure at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. Though he’d had a few smallish focal seizures, it had been one month and one day since his last severe seizure. The good news (silver lining) is that the seizure ceased naturally after just a few minutes. Mom was ready with the valium but didn’t need to use it.
Mau and Cooper Murphy are thankful for completing the requirements at Cat Scouts to earn their Stormy Weather merit badge. After attending class and watching a video about storms, they wrote a report about ice storms and passed their quiz with a grade of 90 percent. They highly recommend Cat Scouts for its opportunities to learn, serve and have a heck of a good time.
Thankful Thursday is a blog hop hosted by everyone’s friend, Brian. To join in, click on his badge.
Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Each week our friends, Teddy and Angel Sammy (Two Spoiled Cats), host a poetry challenge based on a photo they have selected to serve as inspiration for our poems. Today’s photo is actually an oil painting by Norman Rockwell, entitled, “First Signs of Spring.”
Though our mom didn’t write much of a poem, it does speak to spring, which unfortunately is still a month away.
Awaiting Spring
Our daffodils are coming up,
But today they’re covered with snow.
When the flowers will appear,
It is impossible to know.

She claims the measly four lines say everything they need to say. Hmmph! Anyhoo, if you’d like to read Sammy’s poem, which we know will be terrific, click on the poetry badge. You also will find links in the comment section to poems from your fellow bloggers.
Until tomorrow…

Sorry to hear that Sawyer had another seizure, but we’re glad that it stopped on its own and didn’t last a super long time. Love your poem too. While we haven’t gotten any snow, we sure gotten a heck of a lot of rain. We would like to have some warm, sunny weather! Or at the very least, just sunny. Anyway, sending lots of love with extra kisses to Astrid from Sampson!
We’re so glad Sawyer’s seizure wasn’t super bad and we think all those things are worth being Thankful for!!
The Florida Furkids with tons of smoochies and love to Mau from Allie and paw pats to Sawyer from Noelle
Poor Sawyer. I am sorry he had a seizure, but glad it stopped quickly. Cute poem. My Sammy earned his badge too 🙂 XO
Poor sweet Sawyer. I’m glad he didn’t need the medication, but having a seizure is not fun. Big healing scritches to Sawyer.
Congratulations to Mau and Cooper Murphy (my favorite kitty).
I love the poem. I’m so ready for some warmth. We have the blossoms, but not the warmth.
Have a purrfect Thankful Thursday. Scritches to all the kitties and my best to your peeps. ♥
I am worried so about Sawyer!
It’s hard to ‘think Spring’ when we’ve got to scrape ice off the cars, and be careful not to slip while walking.
We’re more than ready for Spring here. I’m thankful that Sawyer’s seizure didn’t last long and resolved on its own, hopefully they can be few and far, far between. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
So sorry little Sawyer had another seizure but grateful it was short. Still praying for that little furbaby. 😻🙏
I’m thinking Florida! 😂
It seems like Sawyer’s seizure is bad news but going a whole month without a major one is good news. I have no experience with them so hopefully Sawyer is doing okay. I also can’t help but wonder what a cat does during stormy weather?
Sawyer I’m sad you had another seizure but glad it didn’t last very long and didn’t require valium. You are such a lucky guy to be in that house where everyone looks out for you so closely and with such love. We really like your Mom’s “Spring” poem and we’re hoping to see some signs of it soon – we have to look pretty hard right now since we had 3 inches of snow and ice yesterday!
Hugs and Happy Thursday
Teddy
That’s a lot of things to be thankful for ! We’re sorry you had another seizure, Sawyer, but we’re glad it ended by itself. Purrs
I’m glad Sawyer didn’t need a valium after his seizure, but still, what a terrible thing to have to go through.
I’m sorry ya had another seizure Sawyer, but glad it ended on its own.
Hope your dad had a pawsome birthday!
