Thoroughly Poetic Thursday
Today, we have a special poet joining Teddy and Angel Sammy’s (Two Spoiled Cats) poetry challenge. He has taken a bit of liberty with the inspiration photo and is hoping his two ginger pals won’t mind.
Here’s that photo and his poem.
Stinky’s Solo Adventure
This man is obviously not acrophobic,
Or he’d have his feet planted firmly on the ground.
He has a unique vantage point to see the city
But does he look, or is he too busy?
Mom said this would make her dizzy.
She’d probably hold her breath,
Fearing she’d fall to her death.
But this looks to me like great fun…
Sitting on the tippy top, gazing all around,
making Mom’s heart skip a beat,
But she shouldn’t worry.
She knows I’ll land on my feet.

Thankful Thursday
Another thing we do on Thursday is join the Thankful Thursday blog hop hosted by Brian. This week we have several things for which we are thankful. First is the great vet visit Sawyer had on Tuesday. As Dr. Neel said on Facebook, he was a “perfect gentleman.”
Sawyer is always quiet in the car coming and going. Unlike several of his fursibs, he never makes a peep. Normally, however, he is a PTU pooper. But not yesterday! While at the office, he received his rabies shot, had blood drawn and his claws trimmed. He didn’t growl or try to scratch or bite anyone. Way to go, Sawyer!
But best of all, Sawyer’s blood work is all normal, and his phenobarbital level is in the therapeutic range. So, we will continue with his current dosage of that and the Keppra. His last seizure was a week ago Monday. They have been happening about a week apart, so his dad and I are thankful for these few extra days.
Cooper Murphy is thankful for all those who came to his party on Tuesday to celebrate his third Gotcha Day. He’s especially grateful to Stinky and Periwinkle for planning such an exceptional celebration.
He’s thankful for the cards he received and asked to share those he wasn’t able to post on Tuesday.
This has been a wonderful week of thankfuls. We’ll be sharing them on Brian’s blog hop. If you’d like to share for what you are thankful, click on Brian’s badge.
That Stinky is very courageous. Even I would not want to be that high off the ground. Way to go Sawyer. I am a singer and PTU pooper too so that is quite an accomplishment. Glad the meds are working a bit to slow down the seizures
Purrayers and POTP that Sawyer’s good vet visits continue. Great poem too.
I would be frightened half to death being up that high. I think I’ll keep my feet on the ground.
Good on Sawyers vet visit. Prayers always.
Cooper Murphy had a great gotcha day. I enjoyed it very much.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, Janet. Big hug to you and scritches to all the kitties. ♥
I am happy to say, I mostly always keep my feet close to the ground/floor…PIpo and Petcretary both, MOL!!! (Pipo is not and has not really ever been a big climb/jump to the heights kitty, unlike some of the others who have lived here with us.)
Hooray for good news from the vet for Sawyer!
Woah!! Don’t go that high up….it’s really scary. If, you fell there’d just be a dot in the cement….I agree with Periwinkle….get down! The poem was very nice but not worth the fall.
Sawyer, you are doing super and no poop in the PC…..life just keeps getting better for your mom.
Tyebe
We enjoyed your poem but we wouldn’t enjoy being way up there either! That sure is a nice bunch of thankfuls and we’re so glad that Sawyer had a good Vet visit. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Oh, heck no…heights make me very unhappy!
Sawyer, it’s good that you’ve passed your tests, and no poop too!
Wonderful news about Sawyer. We’ll keep praying it continues! He’s such a cutie. Great poem to go with that picture. Of course, when I scrolled down and looked at that picture my breakfast jumped in my tummy! I could never even consider doing something like that but I’m glad there are those who can! Enjoy the rest of your week!
Stinky!!! GET DOWN FROM THERE!!
Love,
Periwinkle
ps – great news on the bloodwork. I didn’t need anyone to tell me you are a purrfect gentleman.
I am very grateful that Sawyer has had such improvement in the frequency of the seizures. And I am proud to say a belated Happy Gotcha Day to Cooper Murphey. XXX
Great poem. I am okay with heights if I know I cant fall but put me outside on a balcony . . . no thanks. I am glad Sawyer is doing a little better and I’m happy Cooper Murphy had a good gotcha day.
HA! Excellent poetry – and yep – we kitties might climb high but we land “right side up” every time………good job. We are beyond happy that Sawyer’s blood and med levels are RIGHT WHERE THEY SHOULD BE. This is good news. We just wish the nasty seizures would magically stop bothering him forever. We live in hope!
Hugs, Teddy
Yikes Stinky, you might want to take your boots off and hold on with your claws!
I am glad that Sawyer’s vet visit went well with good blood results.
